These past couple of weeks, I've noticed a trend: people don't realize how incredible they are.
I work with leaders, teams and organizations that seek to define and live into their true identities. Most of these people are in transition. All are looking for more clarity about their greatness. Of course, that's not the presenting request when people come to me. They don't give a ring and state, "Hi...I'm looking to clarify my greatness." That might sound a little odd. But it most cases, people walk away with just that.
The deliverable we create together is called a Personal Mission Map™. It outlines the story people are living, defines their core values, declares their purpose and articulates how they will go about fulfilling that purpose in a way only they can.
When people see themselves on paper in this way, the reaction is usually one of awe and a little bit of, "holy cow...this is scary." In the past few weeks, I've witnessed almost a dozen people reach that magical moment when they realize what Work (with a capital W) they are here to do.
I love this moment because for some, it's the first time they stand in awe of themselves. They see themselves as the wondrous people they are and they become inspired by what they see.
What's possible if you adore and cherish yourself? What might you accomplish if you hold your gifts and talents in the highest regard? What might you try today if you had the audacity to believe the world needs you?
I invite you to stand in awe of yourself this week. My guess is that if you do, you'll have one of the most amazing weeks of your life.
